Hi, we are Terry and Maura – travelkiwis We are a couple from New Zealand who sold our home and gave up our careers in February 2016 to travel. We decided there is more to life than simply working until we retire. We have been to 44 countries – 22 since February 2016. We have a desire to see more countries, but we like to take things slowly so we get to know each place in more depth. We find we enjoy travel more when we have taken the time to find where the locals eat, and that generally means the price is better as well as the flavours. We want to share our experiences good and not, hints and tips, places we stay, things we see and food we eat. We would love to help you have a much better travel experience utilising our knowledge and adventures to help you plan your next trip.

My love for travel, fortunately comes from within my genes. It was instilled in the family very early on and it is something we take the idea of 'getting out' seriously even to this day. We did out first vacation abroad when I was 13 and 13 years on, I've managed to visit almost 20 countries. And guess what? I'm the only person I know, who has been a vegetarian traveller to all of these countries - something I'm really proud of.

Yoga teacher, traveller, writer, artist. Going where I’ve never been, creating adventures/misadventures, reading, learning new languages, generally seizing the day. And living to share the tale. Tabasco, sunshine, poetry, the night sky and writing are some of my many loves in random order. Luckily for me, they’re location independent and generally tag along wherever I go.Through (mostly) solo travel I’ve chased my fears across 14 countries and gotten to know them better with every (mis)adventure. And often they’ve chased me down to get even :)

Authentic Travel through 95 Countries: Danced with Corpses in Africa, Hitchhiked Saudi Arabia, Lived with Sea Gypsies, Tattoos Hammered-in by Headhunters...

Hi we are Kate & Mark creators of Vagrants of the World Travel. Full-time international travellers, photographers and travel bloggers. We are Vagrants of the World. With over 55 countries already under our belts, the past 3 years has seen us slow down a little and experience more of each destination.  Our main mode of travel is international housesitting so when we talk about having lived in a place, this means we have house sat there for a month or more. We have house sat across two continents in eight different countries. Many of these destinations we will have visited numerous times.  When we are not house sitting, we usually choose to stay in one place long term to give us the best experience possible.  Our slower mode of travel means we will often know more about a destination than just the must sees. We get to know a place from a local perspective by experiencing the day to day life. By living local, we have discovered some unique local tips and knowledge on the best things to do, see and enjoy. This means a much more authentic and often a far more affordable experience.  Through the local contacts we have made and our first-hand experiences, we can share advice to make your trips as affordable and truly enjoyable as possible. Hopefully giving you the insight to create a unique and authentic experience and even venture a little off the tourist trail. We look forward to meeting you and hearing all about your next dream vacation.

They've witnessed the northern lights in Canada, surfed with dolphins in Australia, swam with whale sharks in the Philippines, bathed elephants in Thailand, sand boarded down a volcano in Nicaragua, bungee jumped 147m in Costa Rica, worked at Disneyworld in America, been stung by a stingray, scuba dived the Caribbean, snow boarded Canada’s Rocky Mountains & found the Moken Sea Gypsies in Myanmar!

Kim-Ling and Guy love travelling almost as much as they love each other. After spending 8 months living in Spain and cementing their status as hispanophiles, they hope to return there more permanently, whilst visiting as many countries as they can in between. Having travelled through Europe, Australia, USA and parts of Asia, they love sharing their passion for travel and adventure with others.

Danielle is a crazy nomad, wandering through life in a seemingly confident way, while usually totally unsure of her next step. She’s been on the road for three years straight, finding new homes as she hitchhikes along. She once hitched 6,000 kilometers in six days, and is currently exploring South East Asia. Her biggest dream is to one day cuddle a platypus.
